Use of old HiCrypt ™ 2.0 versions on Windows 7 with security rollup update December 2017 or later:

Description: After installing the latest security rollup updates for Windows 7 / Server 2008 R2, you may experience problems using old versions of HiCrypt ™ 2.0 (Setup earlier than 2.2.3).

Symptoms: Files can no longer be opened directly from the network drive, but must first be copied to a local drive.

Solution: Update HiCrypt ™ 2.0 to the latest version. (to the download area).
