Information about data protection at digitronic.
Keeping your data protected and secure when visiting our website is very important to us. For this reason, we promise to protect your personal information and to handle your data confidentially. We would like to take this opportunity to explain what personal data we gather and for what purposes. Please read through this data protection statement on a regular basis, as it may need to be revised to comply with changes in the law.
1. WHAT IS PERSONAL DATA?
Personal data is information that can be used to learn personal or factual details about you. Information which does not allow us (or would only allow us with disproportionate difficulty) to establish a connection to your person, e.g. due to pseudonymisation or anonymisation of the information, is not personal data.
2. WHAT DATA DO WE OBTAIN AND PROCESS?
You can use most of our website without disclosing your identity. However, if you register in our download area, we will ask for your name, email address or other personal information. You are free to decide whether or not to provide this information. However, without it we cannot provide the requested service.
3. WHAT DOES DIGITRONIC USE YOUR DATA FOR?
Your data will only be processed or used for a given purpose if you have given your express consent for this purpose. For example, your data will not be used for advertising purposes without your consent. You will only receive advertising from us if you have given us your express consent. You can withdraw this consent at any time by sending an email to email@example.com.
4. WILL YOUR DATA BE SHARED WITH THIRD PARTIES?
Your data will only be stored in our database and on our servers, unless you have been informed that the data will be shared with other companies, such as our cooperation and advertising partners, and you have expressly consented to the sharing of your data.
Our website contains hyperlinks to websites of other providers. When using such hyperlinks, you will be forwarded directly from our website to the websites of the other providers. You will know that this has happened, because the URL will be different. Should you be forwarded by such a hyperlink to the website of one of our cooperation or advertising partners, the use of your data will be solely subject to the data protection policy of the respective company. We assume no responsibility for the confidential handling of your data, as we have no influence on these companies’ compliance with data protection regulations.
5. SECURITY MEASURES TO PROTECT THE DATA THAT WE STORE
Insofar as we collect data, we will store your data on specially protected servers in Germany. Such data may only be accessed by a small number of authorised persons for technical, commercial or editorial management purposes.
To prevent any loss or misuse of the data stored by digitronic, we take extensive technical and operational security precautions, which are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with technological advances. However, we point out that it is possible, based on the structure of the Internet, that other people and institutions not within our sphere of responsibility might not observe data protection regulations and the abovementioned security measures. In particular, unencrypted data - even if disclosed via email - could possibly be read by third parties. We have no technical means of influencing this. It is the responsibility of the user to use encryption or other means to protect against misuse the data he or she provides.
6. DATA PROTECTION STATEMENT FOR THE USE OF FACEBOOK PLUGINS (LIKE BUTTON, SEND BUTTON, ...) AND GOOGLE ANALYTICS
Our site incorporates plugins of the social network Facebook, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. You can recognise the Facebook plugins on our site by means of the Facebook logo or the “Like” button. An overview of the Facebook plugins is available here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/. When you visit our site, the plugin will establish a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. This provides Facebook with the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you click on the “Like” button while logged in to your Facebook account, you can link the content of our site to your Facebook profile. This will allow Facebook to associate the visit to our site with your user account. We point out that as the site provider, we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or its use by Facebook. Further information about this can be found in Facebook’s data protection statement at http://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php. If you do not want Facebook to be able to associate our site with your Facebook user account, please log out of your Facebook user account.
Google will use this information on our behalf in order to evaluate the use of our website by the user, to compile reports about the activities within this website and to perform further services for us with regard to the use of this website and Internet usage. The processed data may then be used to create pseudonymous user usage profiles.
We only use Google Analytics with active IP anonymisation. This means the IP addresses of the users will be truncated within member countries of the European Union or in other countries which are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. The IP address transmitted from the user’s browser will not be combined with other data by Google.
Users can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting their browser settings accordingly; users can also prevent the transfer to Google or processing by Google of the information generated by the cookie with regard to their use of the website, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
