We were guests at DMEA 2023

The number of companies being hacked is increasing year by year. While industry is often the victim of these attacks, the healthcare sector is now also increasingly becoming the focus of cybercriminals. In May and June of this year, for example, the two major German health insurance companies AOK and Barmer were affected by data leaks in which sensitive data of insured persons was stolen.

In general, there has been a change in the way personal and patient data is handled in the medical sector. This is not only due to various (new) directives and regulations, but also to government funding as part of the Hospital Future Act, which came into force on 1 January 2021 for the modernization of hospitals.

In order to gain a deeper insight into the current industry situation, digitronic was on site in Berlin from April 25 to 27 with Sales Manager Alexander Woeschka, Product Manager Benjamin Prskawetz and Marketing Consultant Wilma Keck at the largest trade fair for the healthcare sector in Germany, DMEA.

Thanks to a partner project with Markkleeberg-based ACL, it was possible to test digitronic’s latest software live. The manufacturer, which provides all-in-one PCs for medical use, installs RFID readers in its devices. These can be used for logging in with a token, among other things. With the flip-flop technology specially developed for the DMEA, it is now possible to log in using SmartLogon even without a permanent connection to the reader.
